I love when clients appreciate the work that goes into a piece I have designed. Today I’m working on something that is similar to the project I posted recently, but smaller. The challenges are always to keep the same color sceme and maintain the overall style and construction of the piece while making it completely different. Challenges!

I found the focal bead I will use for this project. I’m starting to get very excited about how this is going to turn out. Thanks for following along with this creative journey!

Today I have challenged myself to create something in a color way that I don’t usually resonate with. I find it super easy to create work that contains my favorite colors, so for a change of pace I thought  it might bring some new inspiration focusing on a different color. Today’s adventure is green, we shall see where this road leads in terms of jewelry design.

I’m starting to work on a new Christmas themed piece. Don’t tell anyone this one is going to be a present for a very special friend. The main gems I pulled for this piece are a bit different than my usual supplies as they have a metal finding. I expect this composition to be a challenge I will keep you all posted on my progress and plan to post a photo of the final piece after Christmas.

Follow me on Twitter @CarrieTahquechi I would love to hear what you think of the progress on this piece.

Starting a new project

Today, I am starting to pull beads and other construction materials for a large specialty bead embroidery project. At this point, I am leaning towards purple as the primary color way for this piece. I’m going to be posting my progress along the way here if you want to see how it ends up. I love the process of starting a new project, from the composition to choosing the colors, it is all important aspects of creating a new piece of jewelry. Often, I will challenge myself by starting with a loose idea rather than a refined sketched out concept. My inspiration for this project is a shape and color combination. I often stumble across inspiration for projects like this here in my bead studio. I’m excited to see where this inspiration takes me with this new project, and hope you will check back to see how it all turns out!
